The Australian Security Industry Awards provides an opportunity to recognise exceptional individuals and organisations in the security industry who have demonstrated exceptional bravery, professionalism or innovation in helping to safeguard the community.
With a national workforce of just under 150,000 licensed security personnel and more than 11,000 licensed security businesses, the Security Industry plays a vital role as part of Australia’s national security mix. This includes protecting crowded places, providing security at sporting events and concerts, hospitals, critical infrastructure, military bases, licensed premises, shopping centres, ports, airports, courts, cash management and transportation, installing electronic security systems (including alarms, access control, biometric and CCTV systems) and physical security measures.
To recognise the contribution of the many outstanding individuals and organisations in the industry, the 2020 Australian Security Industry Awards are now calling for nominations.
Organised by the Australian Security Industry Association Limited (ASIAL), the 2020 Australian Security Industry Awards is a collaboration of three separate awards programs:
- The 25th Annual Australian Security Industry Awards for Excellence (7 award categories, including new categories for Electronic Security Installation and Security Equipment Manufacturer/Distributor);
- The 6th Annual Outstanding Security Performance Awards (8 award categories);
- The 10th Annual Australian Security Medals Awards (3 award categories).
The awards provide an opportunity to celebrate excellence across all facets of the security industry. Information on award categories and nomination criteria is available at:
www.asial.com.au/securityawards2020
Judging will be undertaken by an independent panel of judges, with award winners will be announced at a special dinner to be held in Sydney on Thursday 22nd October 2020.
Commenting on the opening of nominations, ASIAL CEO Bryan de Caires said “The 2020 Australian Security Industry Awards provide an opportunity to recognise the efforts of exceptional professionals in our industry who work tirelessly to help keep the community safe – 24 hours a day, seven days a week.”
