In alignment with this year’s United Nations Women International Women’s Day theme, Balance the Scales, the Australian Security Industry Association Limited is proud to launch a national campaign spotlighting more than 40 women from across Australia’s private security industry. As the peak body for security professionals, ASIAL is committed to promoting greater diversity and inclusion to strengthen the industry’s long-term sustainability.
The ‘ASIAL Voices’ campaign brings together a powerful cross-section of female leaders and emerging security professionals, who share their personal experiences in working towards the call to Balance the Scales in their workplaces and communities.
A Collective Industry Voice
Featuring frontline security officers, technical specialists, business executives, consultants, and business owners, the campaign captures diverse perspectives on leadership, resilience, and equity.
The personal profiles reflect the actions, behaviours and values that are helping to reshape our industry and attract a more diverse workforce.
Beautifully Designed Statements of Support
At the centre of the ‘ASIAL Voices’ campaign are bespoke Balance the Scales Statement of Support cards which draw on security professionals from across the country. The cards highlight the importance of practical actions, not just words, to help work towards balancing the scales.
The Statement of Support cards are being shared across ASIAL’s extensive digital channels to showcase the many successful women already working in our industry and to inspire others to consider a career in security.
National Breakfast Briefings Showcasing Real Career Journeys
In addition to the digital campaign, a series of industry breakfast briefings will be held in Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Hobart, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney featuring female security leaders. Drawing on their own real-world experiences, these industry leaders will share their personal career journeys and insights on:
- Navigating traditionally male-dominated environments
- Building credibility and commercial influence
- Overcoming bias through performance and persistence
Among those also featured at the industry briefings are male mentors who have an important role and shared responsibility in working towards balancing the scales. Equity is not achieved in isolation. It requires advocacy, sponsorship and leadership from across the entire workforce.
Strengthening the Industry’s Leadership Pipeline
The campaign is not simply a celebration; it is an acknowledgement that the future growth and development of our industry will be bolstered by attracting a more diverse workforce.
By profiling more than 40 women and elevating their stories through national events and digital platforms, ASIAL is seeking to:
- Enhance visibility of female role models
- Support talent attraction and retention
- Encourage more mentoring across our industry
- Demonstrate industry alignment with global diversity standards
As an industry responsible for protecting people, property and assets, a more diverse workforce will serve to further strengthen operational resilience, innovation and client confidence.
A Broader Commitment to diversity and inclusion
The ASIAL Voices International Women’s Day 2026 campaign builds on the Association’s commitment to strengthen industry capability and capacity through the development of higher professional standards, compliance and ethical standards.
Whilst the ASIAL Voices campaign highlights progress in attracting greater female participation, it also shows that the industry still has a long way to go to balance the scales.
A Message from ASIAL
“Balancing the scales is not about rhetoric. It is about tangible actions that deliver tangible results,” said Bryan de Caires, CEO at ASIAL.
“Bringing together more than 40 women’s voices from across our industry provides an opportunity to reflect on the significant depth of female talent, expertise and leadership within our industry. Seeing other women’s success stories helps others imagine themselves doing the same. As the well-known phrase states, “you have to see it to be it”. The campaign also acknowledges the important role mentors – both male and female – play in driving and accelerating change.”
“ASIAL is committed to inspiring the next generation of industry leaders to build a more diverse and inclusive workforce to drive future industry growth.“
