crest_conventionalThe Australian Government will host UK Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs Philip Hammond and Secretary of State for Defence Michael Fallon in Sydney on 2 February 2015 for the annual Australia-UK Ministerial Consultations (AUKMIN).

AUKMIN is the premier forum for the discussion of high-level foreign policy, defence and security issues between Australia and the United Kingdom. It is an opportunity to identify areas where Australia and the UK can cooperate more closely in the pursuit of our shared international interests, including in the Indo-Pacific region.

At this important ministerial meeting with our British counterparts we will discuss the threat of global terrorism and foreign fighters, conflicts in the Middle East, security and strategic issues in Europe and East Asia, intelligence sharing and defence planning and co-operation.
