European emergency services personnel can soon access world-class rescue and disaster recovery training at a global education centre in Australia.
The centre, to be operated by the Public Safety Training and Response Group, will be based in Australia’s northeast. The announcement was made at the Disasters Expo Europe in Frankfurt on May 16.
“First responders from around the globe will be able train in the latest cutting-edge search and rescue techniques at a bespoke training centre,” said the Group’s Director of Services, James Baker.
“Disasters affect everyone, not just Australians. We believe there are no borders when it comes to saving lives. The Group has international experience operating in and training for water, air and land rescue around the globe, and European emergency responders will have access to the education centre.”
“We are currently investigating potential sites and partners in Southeast Queensland and northern New South Wales based on their accessibility to air, water, and land training assets.”
The Public Safety Training and Response Group is headquartered in Brisbane, Queensland, and has experience in public safety training and operations worldwide.
